“Supernatural History” Southmoor School The age and nature of a building such as the Sunderland Empire lends itself to ghostly images, and encounters with energies from the theatres colourful past. With this in mind a group of students from Southmoor school set out to explore and create a supernatural historic record for the Empire Theatre. Taking inspiration from existing ghostly reports and from early photographic ‘evidence’ of spirits and apparitions, the students worked in groups to create their own ghostly tales. These tales were then photographed and realised using digital technology.
