"Queens of the Empire"

Over a period of five weeks the women from Washington Bridge  Project. developed a body of work that has been influenced by the strong female characters who are associated with the Empire theatre. From the original Vesta Tilly who opened the theatre in 1907 , to the very audience that came to view the shows. Working with Sarah Riley to help style the costumes and sets, the women have represented a diverse and often humorous selection of entertainers and theatrical characters.
