spoil mountian
I have worked as an artist for the over 15 years. My work concerns people and space and how our relationship to landscape is mediated though culture and history; how we negotiate the sublime, the unimaginable, the beauty and fear of modern life. My practice has developed across media, utilising photography and video and subsequently embracing sound installation, embroidery. My desire to experiment with sound has led me to set up and run the Noizechoir experimental vocal group (with my partner Marek Gabrysch) which has performed across the U.K. and Europe. I have increasingly incorporated a nomadic element to my work, developing a traveling practice with my family, making make work that responds to location and community, engages with local culture and historical research to produce work with a wry humour and dark- edged reflection of modern life.
